The 88 Butterfly
The Anna's 88 butterfly, also known as the 88 butterfly, is a striking species found from Brazil to Mexico. Its unique wing patterns, resembling the number 88, make it easily recognizable. This butterfly thrives in tropical environments, often seen fluttering around flowering plants. Its vibrant colors and fascinating behavior make it a favorite among butterfly enthusiasts.
Fun Facts
The 88 butterfly absolutely loves coffee regions where it enjoys the variety of flowering plants that thrive there! Their presence is a great sign of a healthy environment and they play a crucial role in pollinating, which boosts coffee crop growth. This makes them a fantastic and essential part of the agricultural landscape!
The 88 on the butterfly's wings can sometimes appear as 98 or 89 as well. The back of the butterfly is drastically different from its underside, usually bright blue stripes on solid black.



Inspiration
Michael first encountered the 88 butterfly while hiking near a high coffee plantation above a small village outside of Siguatepeque, Honduras. The butterfly was gracefully fluttering about in a carefree manner. After buying our coffee farm in the same area, Michael and Sindi decided to make the 88 butterfly the mascot of our coffee adventure!
The 88 butterfly caterpillar is quite interesting as well, with its long spiked antennae and cute yellow face.
